Property Description:The Agnew property is located in the subalpine country of the far southwest corner of Colfax County, approximately 10 miles south of Angel Fire. The property is situated along the west slope of the Ocate Mesa, between Black Lake and Hidden Lake, and affords spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the west and the Cimarron Mountains to the north.

 

At elevations ranging from 9,200 to 9,900 feet, the property is characterized by dense, mixed spruce-fir forest with stands of aspen interspersed throughout. There is an open meadow in the southwest corner of the property through which a small spring-fed creek flows. The property provides significant, natural habitat for a variety of wildlife species, including elk, mule deer, mountain lion, black bear, bobcat, pine marten, and a variety of small mammals and birds.
