Ensure the continuation of local farm and ranch production -

Each year over 50,000 acres of rural land are lost due to growth and development, of which ten percent are prime agricultural lands. Along with this, precious water rights, which should be kept on the land, are being transferred and converted to municipal use.

Protect wildlife and their habitats and migratory patterns -

Wildlife is forced to relocate and find other sources of food and shelter as habitats are fragmented or converted altogether.

Preserve our scenic open space -

New Mexico, known as the Land of Enchantment because of its breathtaking beauty and scenic vistas, is becoming one of the top ten fastest growing states in the nation, with the population expected to increase 35% over the next 25 years.
