Watch Out on the Land’s recent episode profiling Sid and Cheryl Goodloe and their holistic resource management practices at Carrizo Valley Ranch. Sid, who is a member of the New Mexico Land Conservancy Advisory Board, and Cheryl are innovative ranchers and committed conservationists. Additionally, Sid is Founder and President of the Southern Rockies Agricultural Land Trust; a Board member of the Quivira Coalition and of the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association; an international livestock consultant who has worked in Australia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Madagascar, Iran, and the Dominican Republic, as well as with the Ute Tribe. He is also a founding member of the New Mexico Riparian Council; and a past member of the Users Advisory Board to the U. S. Secretary of Agriculture and a member of the National Commission on Wildfire. The Goodloe’s 3,330-acre Carrizo Valley Ranch is under conservation easement with NMLC.
Out On The Land is a weekly, half-hour television series hosted by Dr. Larry Butler which includes video segments from a variety of farms, ranches and other lands. The show features the landowners and their stewardship practices which are highlighted and discussed while “Out On The Land.” The critical conservation practices often employed include improved water quantity and quality, soil conservation, healthy wildlife habitats and populations, clean air, and the sustainability of agricultural industries and products.
